URDC Human Services Corporation (URDC), a non profit corporation, was founded in 1992 to provide health and human services to low income and indigent children and family members. URDC’s services are designed to reduce barriers and increase access to community members who have no or limited access to health care and human services. The goals of the organization are: To provide health, social and human services, housing and economic development and comprehensive revitalization to meet the needs of members of communities lacking these services.

Projects that URDC focus on include free or low-cost medical services, low cost affordable housing, training, substance abuse treatment services for women, supportive housing services, and other social and health services for children, youth, adults and seniors in the community.

Funding for these projects are sought from foundations in and outside the community, corporations, individual donors, ecumenical organizations, and Federal, State, and local jurisdictions. In addition, the programs utilize volunteers, and an Advisory Board has been established to provide technical and financial assistance to the Board and staff in the development of programs to meet the needs of the community.

URDC programs have a significant impact in the community. The geographic areas that URDC concentrates on, such as Northwest Pasadena and the west San Gabriel Valley, are heavily populated by minority groups, both black and Hispanic, who are at or below poverty and have little access to affordable housing, health care, economic opportunities or job training.

URDC, in its comprehensive approach to the problems of the community, will address significant social problems with the establishment of needed health and social service program which target underserved children, youth, adults and seniors. Our approach to the delivery of such services is to supplement and integrate these programs with existing community service programs.

URDC's programs at this time include the Bill Moore Community Health Clinic (BMCHC), a primary health care clinic, and CHOICES, a comprehensive perinatal substance abuse treatment program, and Casa Maria, a 14 bed transitional housing program for homeless women with a history of substance abuse.
